Meet Jewel
Jewel is an author and freelance writer who understands the importance of having an emotional outlet. Having experienced feelings such as doubt, stress, worry, frustration, and even happiness or excitement over the years, sometimes she just needed someone to talk to.
Although always willing to lend an ear, Jewel found that she didn’t always have the same available to her during her times of need. After experiencing the loss of her mother in 2017, Jewel found herself with no one to share her life’s experiences with at all. Sure, she had friends and family, but no one was really listening.
She knew that she couldn’t be the only one feeling this way. So it became her mission to become to others that person she didn’t have – that listening ear.
Did You Know?
Research shows that most individuals spend 60% of their conversation time talking about themselves. This number jumps to 80% while conversing on social media.
Many educators and older individuals bemoan the loss of "the art of conversation", as technology and social media turns people away from physical human interaction and face-to-face discussion.
Many people pace while talking on the phone. Psychologists believe this may be a sort of coping mechanism to make up for lack of body language and non-verbal cues that normally accompany conversation.
